A thoughtful New England farm boy, raised among maple woods and schoolbooks, dreams of far‑off seas and tropical lands. When a chance meeting with a retired merchant leads to an invitation aboard a West‑Indian trading bark, he eagerly sets sail, leaving behind his modest life for the promise of adventure.
The voyage quickly turns perilous as the ship battles fierce storms and the treacherous Sargasso Sea. A violent gale forces the young sailor to abandon ship, and he finds himself cast upon a remote island, surrounded by unfamiliar flora and strange sounds. With little more than his wits and a handful of supplies, he begins to carve out a new existence—building shelter, learning to hunt, and charting a daily rhythm from coconut palms to the tides.
Listeners will be drawn into his resourceful struggle, feeling the salt‑sprayed air and the thrill of discovering how a determined youth can turn an unexpected castaway into a self‑made island pioneer.

Adventure, shipwreck, and treasure-hunt thrills drive the stories published under the name Allan Eric. Behind that pen name was Charles W. Willis, a late-19th- and early-20th-century writer remembered for boys' adventure fiction such as A Yankee Crusoe.
