Johnny Longbow

Johnny Thompson fights for his life in a furious Arctic stream, the cold water dragging him over rocks and through tangled spruce. With only a battered canvas sack and his own strength, he claws his way onto a fallen tree, turning the rushing current into a precarious bridge. Exhausted but alive, he scrambles to shore, his clothes soaked and his supplies shredded, leaving only one mysterious item intact. The harsh wilderness presses in, reminding him how far the nearest cabin lies—fifty miles of untamed forest.

From the shadows of pine trees emerges a young woman, her hair catching the sunset and a simple wooden bucket in her hands.
