The Land of Lost Toys

Sam, the ever‑curious boy of the nursery, has a habit of breaking his own toys and, occasionally, those of his sister. Dot, his twin, is stout, quick‑witted and endlessly patient, always muttering her steady mantra, “I don’t care,” to keep the peace. Their daily battles turn the nursery into a miniature battlefield of cracked dolls, tangled ribbons and improvised inventions, yet a strange affection lingers between the pair.

One bright morning Sam declares he will stage a spectacular show, demanding every toy Dot owns as his audience’s supply. He piles the dolls, bricks, farm sets and tiny horses onto a green‑cloth table, arranging them into a haphazard town of mismatched scales and crooked streets. Dot watches, claps enthusiastically, and wonders what marvels might emerge from this chaotic construction.
