Observations on the Mississippi Kite in Southwestern Kansas

The Mississippi kite, a common raptor that fills Kansas skies each summer, is the focus of a detailed field study carried out in the early 1960s. The researcher ventured to Meade County State Park in the state’s far southwest, an area where the species reaches the edge of its breeding range and encounters markedly different conditions from its southeastern homes.
