In the quiet corridors of the Imperial Theatre, a shy playwright named Nojima finds himself drawn into a world he rarely visits. Prompted by a friend, he attends a performance where he finally sees Sugiko—a striking, graceful young woman whose presence ignites a mixture of admiration and unease. The brief encounter, punctuated by polite bows and fleeting glances, leaves Nojima haunted by the image of her, turning his ordinary day into a restless reverie.
Back home, Nojima’s thoughts swirl between the allure of Sugiko’s beauty and his own doubts about worthiness and ambition. He wrestles with the desire to speak to her, the fear of overstepping, and the lingering echo of a photograph that once captured her youthful charm. As he navigates conversations with friends and the lingering hum of the theater, the subtle tension between longing and restraint begins to shape his creative spirit.
