Jan is a lone runner across a broken landscape, his pursuit of a deer leading him to a ruined bridge and the skeletal remains of a once‑great city. In the middle of the wreckage he finds a perfectly square, glowing slab about four feet on a side, its surface humming with an uncanny, ember‑like light. Anything that touches it simply disappears, prompting Jan to test the phenomenon with rocks, sticks, and his own daring curiosity.
As the strange plate swallows and returns objects at his command, Jan’s excitement turns to unease. The simple game quickly reveals an unseen force that can grip and pull, hinting that the square may be more than a harmless curiosity. With each experiment the mystery deepens, and Jan must decide whether to keep probing the unknown or retreat from a power that could reshape his understanding of the shattered world around him.
