A lone trailblazer pushes through the endless white of the Yukon, his snow‑shoes biting into deep drifts as the river’s icy chorus fades into night. Keith Steadman, seasoned by countless mountain passes, builds a modest shelter beneath a stand of fir, coaxing a fire to chase away the biting cold. He shares a humble meal of bacon, beans and tea, his only company a wary dog that has followed him from the shadows.
The animal’s collar clutches a weather‑worn scrap of paper, its contents hidden but clearly important enough to stir Keith’s curiosity. As the fire crackles, the frontiersman begins to wonder who—or what—sent the mysterious note across the frozen wilderness. With the night drawing its veil over the landscape, the stage is set for a trek that may turn a simple supply run into a quest for answers amid the unforgiving north.
