Wilbur Hawkes jolts awake, heart pounding, his mind still tangled in a nightmarish vision of gelatinous walls and unseen predators. The bedroom he finds himself in feels stale and abandoned, lit only by a weak night‑light and the faint ticking of a clock. Disoriented, he discovers a cigarette in his hand—a habit he never had—and a blank tape recorder that seems to have erased its own contents.

With the room’s dust‑laden mirrors reflecting a gaunt, sleepless face, Hawkes frantically searches for clues. A slip of paper falls from his coat, covered in strange Greek symbols and an unfinished equation ending in an infinity sign, hinting at a secret he cannot yet grasp. As the pressure builds and an unseen threat seems to close in, he must piece together the missing hours of his life while racing against a danger that feels both immediate and incomprehensible.
