In a cramped London flat, a weary scholar spends his mornings staring through sleet‑soaked windows at the rooftops of a cheap suburb. His study is crowded with books and a wall of portraits—each one a regal Irish Wolfhound, the breed that has haunted his thoughts for years. When the Mistress of the Kennels, a bright‑eyed woman named Tara, steps inside with a young pup in her arms, the scholar’s memories of a distant meadow and a towering hound named Finn awaken.
Finn, a massive, moon‑lit wolfhound, has lived a life of loyalty and quiet heroism, from the rolling uplands of Devonshire to the shadowy alleys of the city. As the man recalls the day Tara’s first litter was weaned and the strange, almost prophetic whispers of an approaching “Croft,” a sense of restless anticipation builds. Listeners are invited to follow the gentle unfolding of past and present, where the bond between man and beast may yet guide them toward an unexpected journey.
