Description

In the flourishing Tang court, a principled official from the Lu family watches his two talented sons—one known for his striking beauty and the other for his fierce bravery—grow under his careful guidance. Their lives are soon upended when the scheming Chancellor Shen, hungry for power, maneuvers to send the elder Lu to the volatile frontier to suppress a rebellious tribe, hoping to eliminate a rival. Loyal to the emperor yet torn by parental duty, Lu grapples with the looming separation, arranging trusted allies to protect his young heirs and settle their pending marriages.

Before departing, the family gathers for a solemn farewell, sharing wine and counsel as the army readies for march. A sudden, eerie wind tears the battle flag in two, foreshadowing the perils ahead and stirring unease among the troops. Meanwhile, the brothers, confined at home, find a fleeting respite in a snow‑covered landscape, daring a hunt that leads them to an ancient, deserted shrine—hinting at mysteries that will soon test their courage and wit.
