Zip is a sprightly fox terrier who lives in the white house on the edge of Maplewood with his owner, Dr. Elsworth. He spends his days dozing on the front porch, dreaming of endless chases—whether it’s his own tail, a flock of chickens, or the occasional cow’s long hair. His boundless energy and curiosity turn even the quietest afternoons into lively adventures, and his playful bark is a familiar sound throughout the neighborhood.
One bright morning, a ragged tramp tries to push his way through the front gate, and Zip’s fierce protectiveness erupts. The tiny terrier darts through a hidden lilac‑covered tunnel, surprising the intruder and snatching a bundle from his cane. A frantic chase ensues, with Zip sprinting across the yard, leaping over ditches, and showing the tenacity that makes him both a beloved companion and a mischievous hero.
