The Jungle Baby

In a sun‑drenched hill station on the edge of an Indian jungle, a curious white baby named Bab‑ba spends his days on a wide verandah, surrounded by a loyal dog, a mischievous cat, and a chorus of birds that flutter at his crumbs. His devoted Ayah, Jeejee‑walla, watches over him while his father, an English officer, tends the sprawling garden that borders the untamed forest. The gentle rhythm of their life is interrupted when Hoodo, a sly garden snake, slithers in, eyes set on the feathered visitors and, soon after, on the innocent child himself.

Hoodo’s thwarted attempt to snatch the birds sparks a quiet vendetta, leading him deep into the jungle where he consults the fearsome tiger, the cunning wolf, and the massive bear about a daring feast.
